Two-Day Workshop, Salt Lake City, August 2nd and 3rd

from 300.00

Join Heidi Swapp and David Kozlowski, the hosts of the “Light the Fight” podcast at a live two-day workshop, “Parenting 20.19” in Salt Lake City, Utah, August 2nd and 3rd. Special discount for two people:

If you're like most parents, you're challenged by the constant competition to be the most influential person in your child’s life. As your child gains more independence, every parent faces difficult decisions: You want to protect your child from harm, and from making harmful mistakes, especially as they gain more independence. But how can you set necessary boundaries without sacrificing your relationship with them?

There's good news! Your stabilizing, strengthening influence doesn't have to wane as your child gets older. There are skills you can learn that will change disconnection & confrontation into a deep connection. You can learn how to build and use the quality of your relationship with them to provide influence, rather than just setting down rules and expecting - or hoping for - them to be obeyed.

In our new two-day, intensive workshop you'll learn to understand, strengthen, and utilize the power of your influence as a parent. We will discuss:

  • What influence is and how it works.

  • The secret behind building successful parental influence

  • How to overcome barriers that inhibit parents from having positive influence

  • How to use influence effectively to both build, and also to repair

In our interactive workshop, you'll gain insight from our own stories, as well as those from other families. We'll cover topics that relate to specific teenage struggles, such as:

  • Bullying

  • Anxiety

  • Addiction

  • Self-harm

  • Depression

You'll come away from our two days together with increased confidence, an array of new skills, and a whole new relationship-based approach to parenting that we know you'll find helpful in your own family situation, no matter what struggles you're currently experiencing.

This workshop has very limited space, so each attendee can take advantage of the small-group atmosphere. We encourage both parents to attend together, so we are offering a discount for two attendees.

We look forward to meeting you, and helping you build the skills to build, maintain, or restore your relationship with your child!

About the Instructors

Heidi and David are an unusual duo, and you'll see that from the moment you meet them. David's perspective comes from his training as a licensed marriage and family therapist, and his years of experience counseling teens in crisis, and their parents. His real gift is distilling that insight into meaningful, actionable counsel for parents in every phase of life.

Heidi's experience comes in an array of forms: as a memory keeper, entrepreneur, and teacher, she has traveled the world teaching women how to embrace and savor the stories of their lives. As a mother of five, she has directly experienced many of the same ups and downs as other parents have. As a suicide survivor, she has experienced losing her second son to suicide in 2015.

Together, they share their stories, insights, and experiences in a way that's compelling and easy to understand. They'll show you skills you can implement in your own family right away, and provide expert, proven ideas, regardless of whether you are in a crisis, or just trying to improve your relationship with your children.
